KENNESAW, Ga. (October 6, 2026) Fumex Air Filtration Systems ("Fumex") today announced the acquisition of PAT Technology Systems, the Montreal, Canada company behind the Filtrabox brand. PAT Technology Systems is a founder owned designer and manufacturer of highly engineered purification solutions that protect people, equipment, and the environment from airborne pollutants. Filtrabox is known for slim, modular fume extractors for laser marking, engraving, and printing applications.

Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Kennesaw, Georgia, Fumex designs and manufactures extraction systems that capture hazardous particulate and chemical fumes directly at the source. Fumex systems serve a broad range of industrial and healthcare applications, including laser processing, welding, 3D printing, soldering, plastic processing, and plasma and corona treatment, and they are built to meet stringent health, safety, and regulatory standards.

The two businesses bring complementary strengths. Fumex has built its reputation on engineered source capture systems, dust control, and filtration for demanding industrial processes. Filtrabox is recognized for compact, modular units with a design that simplifies field service and keeps downtime low. Together, they give manufacturers one expanded source for fume and particulate control across welding and fabrication, laser marking and engraving, wide format printing, and plasma and corona treatment.

Adding Filtrabox will allow Fumex to serve customers across North America and Europe more effectively. The combined engineering teams will develop new filtration solutions for existing and new customers across a broad range of end markets. As part of the transaction, the Filtrabox management team will remain in place.
